As Owner and Lead Event Planner at Inspired Occasions, I spend the majority of my time planning special events for clients and organizations. Occasionally, I get to put my skills and my coordination team to work on an event closer to home. This past March, that event was my daughter Casey’s Sweet 16 party.
As is always my goal, I really wanted this party to represent the guest of honor. In this case, it was my daughter who has a great passion for a few important things, friends, music and sweets! So this party was planned to incorporate as many friends as she wanted, great music and dancing and a menu filled with all of Casey’s sweet favorites. The results were magical – a coach bus filled with 50 exuberant teenagers dressed in their finest arrived at a beautiful barn draped in twinkle lights, got hopped up on sugar danced the night away.
- Because not everyone can handle 4 hours of dessert, a chip and dip bar offers a little salt to balance the sweet.
- “Casey’s Sweet Favorites” featured some classic desserts with some of Casey’s less traditional favorites like glazed donuts, BOXED Rice Krispy Treats and Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins.
- The highlight of the night was dancing. DJ Chris Hollister kept those kids moving and sweating all over the place for hours.
- And because no kid should go home from a party without a goody bag, a classic Candy Bar.
I cannot believe that I’ve been a mother for 16 years! I am blessed with a smart, funny and compassionate daughter and it was my honor to celebrate her with this special party. Special thanks to everyone who helped me make it happen; The Nally Family from The Barn at the Bridge, Chris from Hollister Entertainment, Marsh Bus, Coccadotts Cake Shop and the coordination team of Inspired Occasions Weddings & Events.
